CFCoordSpecs.get_name(name, specialize=False, loc=None)

Get the name of the matching CF specs

Parameters

  • name (str, xarray.DataArray) – Either a data array, a known cf name or a data var name

  • specialize (bool) – Get the first name as listed in specs, which is generally a specialized one, like a name adopted by specialized dataset.

  • loc (str, None) – Format it at this location

Returns

None or str – Either the CF name or the specialized name
